Hare: Hurls for Gurlz

On yet another steamy and sultry Georgia afternoon with the mercury climbing past 100°, the pack met up at the Bealls Outlet in Warner Vegas. Having been told to bring ID’s and leave the dogs at home, this trail promised a little bit for everyone except Lemonnads, who promptly began bitching about this being a pub crawl. The usual suspects were there: Bone-a, Banana, BHN, Flipher, Brother Blue Balls, Cheaper, Lemon, Been There, D.D., All Y’all, TBK, Virgin Erika, and yours truly. The virgin bunny was given to V Erika with the admonishment not to relinquish it. She was promptly conned out of it. After a brief blessing, Hurls took off.
Because of the Noah’s Ark type rain, Hurls modified the trail so we really didn’t need floatation devices. For a while it looked like a lot of road but then miraculously a beer stop appeared and it was AIR CONDITIONED!! After having our ID’s checked at the door, several pitchers of the heavenly nectar awaiting us at Smokes. After this lovely Oasis, it was time to pound the pavement again. Pretty soon the walkers were looking for fountains or sprinklers to splash in. We did pass a swimming pool where Brother hopped the fence and jumped into the water. He got busted and was asked to leave. He quickly caught up to the rest of the walkers, squishing and dripping all the way.
The second beer stop, Friends on the Hill, soon came into sight. Hot and parched, the air conditioning and beer were quite welcome. The stop did not last nearly long enough and we took off again. This time it was into the woods and down a sheer embankment. Been there decided to take a tumble and most of us had scrapes and scratches by the end of the woods. We came out on Watson to a balls across, through the Kmart parking lot and to the end. We circled up and BHN administered down downs. As the sun went down, circle adjourned to Yesterdays.
